Transformation of the Day: Domonique lost 92 pounds with portion control, exercise, and consistency. This mom was determined to overcome depression and emotional eating. She figured out what works for her, which is the key to success on this journey.
I suffered from” ed” with depression for a very long time. During the pandemic, I lost my job. Also, I didn’t have a good relationship with my child’s father. He never gave me the love I wanted as a woman, so that caused me to turn to food and eat my feelings. I reached my highest weight of 307 pounds and was a lazy couch potato.
I started gaining confidence, and then I started walking during my lunch break (before I lost my job). I would walk for 30-60 minutes.
I saw this homemade weight loss tea [ingredients below], and I stuck with that for two years. It helps me keep my weight off! I eat three times a day, but I portion my meals (that was a game-changer).
I now weigh 215 pounds and have gained all my confidence back! Altogether, I’ve lost 92 pounds!! Progress can be slow in the beginning. However, once you stick to it, oh boy, do you start seeing and feeling that change!
I’m more energetic, and my thoughts are clear. I’m motivated to keep it up, so I walk every day, twice a day. I will start my new job soon, and I already have plans to fit my workouts into my schedule and plan my meals.
What’s in the weight loss tea?
I make my own apple cider vinegar tea. The ingredients are;
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Nutmeg
- Lemon
- Honey
- Ginger
- And LOTS of water
Tell us more about how you changed your eating habits?
I love ice cream and sweets, so I used to eat lots of ice cream multiple times a day and lots of candy and cookies. I never wanted to cook because fast food was my go-to! Then I started drinking my tea and eating salads from restaurants. Next, I started making my own salads, and my appetite started to change. Once I noticed I was feeling better and losing inches, I began portioning my meals, and that’s when it all started.
How many days a week did you walk?
I walk Monday through Friday for 30-60 mins a day. My daughter motivated me to start walking every day because she saw how unhappy and uncomfortable I was.
What is your height?
I’m 5’2″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in December 2020, so it’s been one year and five months.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. I did consider surgery in the very beginning. However, at the end of the day, I felt like doing natural would be the best for my body. So, no surgeries for me.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson was to love myself first!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to DON’T GIVE UP! And be consistent and very patient because your time will come! It’s all in your mind. Pay attention to your body.
