I’ve lost a total of 85lbs! They say you have to have surgery just to get the “perfect body”. Well, I’m a testimony that with hard work and dedication, you can Mold and Shape your body however you please. Never give up on your body goals. Be your own goal, and strive to reach that goal! Transformation of the Day: Dionna lost 55 pounds. She had low self-esteem and didn’t like the person she had become. By being consistent with daily workouts and healthy eating habits, she was able to transform her body and her mindset. Check out her story.
What was your motivation?
I wanted to lose weight and start this journey is because I was ready for a change. I didn’t like the person I was, and I knew I could become something better. Due to my past and everything I’ve been through, I knew I deserved better. I got an extra push when all my friends said I gained weight. I’ve always had low self-esteem, so they really brought me down. So, I decided that I wanted to change.
The hardest part was staying consistent and pushing through the tough times. When you push through those times, it just shows how strong you are.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits changed drastically. I didn’t eat any red meat, sugars, carbs, or anything that was unhealthy. I ate lots of fruit, greens, chicken, and turkey to give my body the energy it needs. I was on the Apple Cider Vinegar diet and lost weight very quickly. I took a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar every morning in a shot glass and with 3-4 drops of lemon in it. I washed it down with water. I did this every morning before I started my day. It flushes you out and detoxes your body.
Tell us about your workout routine?
I did cardio every day. Running, using inclines, stair master, run for 3-4 miles…anything that would get my heart rate up. After cardio, I target the areas that I want to work on. (Arms, stomach, glutes, and legs) I always did glute exercises, like lunges, deadlifts, and squats. Russian twists and Crunches helped me to slim my waist down. I work out every day because I want to tone and improve those areas.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 230 pounds and now I weigh175 pounds. My height is 5’5″. I have been maintaining my weight loss, but I would like to lose 20 more pounds.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in April 2018.
Was weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I never had surgery because I didn’t want any help on my weight loss journey. I wanted to be proud of my accomplishment.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I learned is that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. If you believe, you will definitely achieve.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice for someone who is trying to lose weight: NEVER GIVE UP! You will never achieve anything in your life if you give up or get discouraged.

I commend each one of you. Between 2014 and 2015, I Los about 65-70 lbs. I was motivated to do it because my husband needed a kidney and in order to be tested and give him life, I did it. Well after all was done I lost my motivation. Now I am knocking on the door if 57 and I am just getting my motivation back and it is hard. Any pointers

You did it for your husband, you can do it for YOURSELF! Just get to it. YOU are worth just as much as your husband, if not more. What other pointer do you need?
