Transformation of the Day: Desinity lost 24 pounds. Her journey began six weeks after giving birth to baby number two. She just wanted to love what she saw in the mirror again. So she put in the work by eating healthy food, meal prepping, and working out consistently.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was wanting to look in a mirror at myself and genuinely like what I see. I was tired of not liking myself and wanted to change.
My previous failed attempts to lose weight inspired me to keep going. I knew what giving up felt like and looked like already, so I knew I had to do something different this time. No matter what, I never gave up! I kept going, and it finally paid off!
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits big time. I cut out junk food and fast food, and now I only enjoy it in moderation. I gave up soda and juice. Water is my go-to now.
Capri Curves has a program that includes a list of healthy food to eat. That list and the actual program provided an amazing start to my journey. Also, my husband and I meal prep every Sunday. Meal prepping was the game-changer in our weight loss journey.
What did your workout routine consist of? How many days a week did you work out?
I started using the Capri Curves program. Then I began to add more workouts.
I work out 5-6 times a week. Most days, I work out twice a day, once in the morning (fasted cardio has been another game-changer) and again in the afternoon.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 184 pounds, and my current weight is 160 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’5″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in May 2020, six weeks after having baby number two. So it’s been a year and a half, and I’m still on my journey. There’s no endpoint now. I have made this a lifestyle.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, surgery was not part of my transformation.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned so far is that faith without work is dead!
You have to be willing to put in the work. The process begins with your mind. Put the work in mentally, and your body will follow.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
The advice I have for women who want to lose weight is to become extremely clear on their weight loss goal and what they want to achieve.
Write it down, adjust your mindset, make a PLAN, and take action.
I have started an online community via Instagram @theeverydaywomanco to help women renew their mindset and plan and execute their goals.
