BWLW and Black Girls RUN! member Denise has lost 40 pounds!
She says, “I’m 41 years old & New to BWLW!!! I was told by 40 I would be cripple due to needing double knee replacement since my 20’s. I started my journey March 2011 after being scared sick with thinking I had Double Breast Cancer & Thyroid Cancer both at the same time after going through multiply test & several Biopsy. I had my wake up call. Thank God all test was negative, so I started my research on weight loss programs and I choose Weight Watchers & support group FFL And have lost 40 lbs as of today. I recently quit WW bc It’s been a year and a half and i feel like it’s time to try something New to reach my goal weight loss of 15 more lbs. Ladies my Motto is ” If I Can Do It Any One Can”. I have done six 5K’s and recently finished a 10 Mile Run/Walk with these 2 Bad Knees. This journey by far is not easy!! Slow is always Better. My highest weight was 225 I wore a size 18/20, today I weigh 185 and wear a size 12. I’m in the medical field my before I wore XXL Scrubs today I wear a Med and they are big on me.”
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us, Denise!
