For Day 18, I thought I’d share this video of Joel Fuhrman, MD on the Dr. Oz show talking about why people eat so much but still has such strong food cravings. This information is relevant to our challenge because during our smoothie challenge we are addressing the nutrient intake issue he discusses.

Spicy Banana Smoothie from EatingWell.com
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 cup(s) vanilla kefir – Kefir is a drinkable yogurt found in the dairy section of most supermarkets, it is full of protein, calcium and probiotics.
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) ground allspice
- 12 ice cubes
Avocado Banana Smoothie
- 1 cup of vanilla greek yogurt
- 1 large, ripe avocado
- 2 tbsp honey or agave nectar
- 1 ripe frozen banana
- 1 cup of ice
Peanut Butter Coco Smoothie
- 2 medium-size ripe bananas, frozen and peeled
- 1 1⁄2 c plain low fat yogurt
- 4 tbsp natural, unsalted, smooth peanut butter
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 1⁄2 t pure vanilla extract
- Add 1/2 cup ice if you want a more frozen drink
