Social Media: I’m on Facebook.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was that I wanted to go to my appointments and hear that my weight was steadily going down.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Being able to walk without any pain in my joints inspired me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I just slowly began to limit my intake of fried foods. I have really cut back on fast food as well. Also, I’ve gone eight-plus years without sodas.
How often did you work out?
I work out 2 to 4 days a week.
What is your workout routine? It was a combination of these examples; I love to line dance when I have time. I work out online twice a week with a lady named LaTisha, owner of SheFit Fitness. I also work out twice a week in person with a trainer in my hometown named Amtwan Jones.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 391.6 pounds, and my current weight is 339.0 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’0″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I’ve always started and stopped because my mind wasn’t strong enough to stay on board. I would give up quickly. It took a few months to hit my 50-pound mark.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. No offense against those who have taken that route because we are all different. However, I challenged myself to do it naturally. (All my doctor wanted to talk about in the past was weight loss surgery.)
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
NEVER GIVE UP. It’s mind over matter.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Do it even if you have to do it alone.
