Weight Loss Story of the Day: Cynthia lost 50 pounds. Her wake up call came in the form of a rude co-worker commenting on her weight, something many of us can relate to. She didn’t let it get her down. Instead she let her haters be her motivators and committed to taking action. Here is what she shared with us about her weight release journey…
In September 2014, at 5’4″ tall I weighed 235 pounds. One day, I was sitting at my office desk and one of my co-worker’s walked in said, “Ms. Peoples, you getting big. What have you have been eating?” and everyone started laughing!” That hurt my feelings so bad, so but I didn’t let it show. When I made it back home, I cried SO hard because all my life I have been fat. That night I prayed and asked God to please help me on my weight loss journey.
The next morning I woke up and decided to change my eating habits. I started by logging in my food and eating six small portions a day with no refined sugar. I also cut out eating bread. I was eating chicken, fish, green vegetables. I pushed myself to eat healthy even when I didn’t want to.
I worked out 5 days a week, walking and running. Sometimes I worked out 2 or 3 times a day. I joined a workout boot camp at work called FAT BY CHOICE! We did drills with each other, ran in muddy water, climbed hills, mixed in some weight training.
Now, I am 36 years old and very proud to say that I am 50 pounds lighter and I feel great. My journey has been from September 2014 to the present. I’m loving the new me.
I want to let others know that you can lose weight. No matter what your circumstances are or your age. YOU can start living a healthy lifestyle right now. If you have to have a support system take advantage of that! Take it one day at a time and you will reach your goals. If I can do this, then so can you but it’s got to be something you want to do.
