Cynthia lost 149 pounds. She was a heavy smoker who suffered from many health issues, including sleep apnea and diabetes. Her crusade to free herself from obesity has transformed her business. Now, she helps people change their lifestyles with her catering business.
What was your motivation?
I used to weigh 311 pounds, and I was a heavy smoker. I wore a size 18/20, and it was difficult to find clothing. I was suffering from hypertension, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, bleeding stomach ulcers, and diabetes.
One day, I was walking up the train station steps, heading home from work, and my legs locked on me. I prayed to God that if I made it home in one piece, I would change my unhealthy lifestyle. From that point on, I told myself I was not going on a “diet.” Instead, I was going to do a 180-degree lifestyle change.
How did you change your eating habits?
I threw out all the junk food and replaced it with healthy, organic food. I also obtained my food handlers license. I educated myself on nutrition so that I could eat better.
Tell us about your workout routine.
I started working out 3-4 days a week. My routine consisted of walking, jogging, biking, and dancing.

My starting weight was 311lbs, and I currently weigh 162 pounds. Now, I wear a size 8/10. My height is 5’3″.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
That this transformation was not dieting, but life CHANGING.
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
Health is the new Wealth.
When I saw that my lifestyle change was producing amazing results, I wanted to educate others so they could share my experience. I set up my business, Living Healthy Lunch Boxes & Catering, inspired by my past pain. I’m on a crusade to educate others who suffer from obesity, sickness and health issues.
I want the world to know they do not have to be handcuffed to medications or be behind the bars of being overweight. I believe it all starts with healthy eating, exercising regularly, and the right support system.
I’m working with yoga studios, co-working spaces, gyms, personal trainers, boot camps, and now delivering to clients homes to provide healthy meal plans, detoxing remedies, smoothie recipes, and other healthy organic regimens. I assist and help clients who are to busy to shop and prepare healthy food, drinks, smoothies, menus, and snacks for themselves.
