Transformation of the Day: Crystal lost 47 pounds. She just wanted to feel good, look good, and be healthy. With the help of her trainer and a meal prep service, she figured out how to release the weight and keep it off.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I wanted to make a change because I wanted to dress differently, feel different and be healthy.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped eating fast foods and junk. I stopped eating late and started using a meal prep service called Iron Divas. Making these changes helped me stay on track and gave me the correct caloric intake and amount of food I should eat. Some of the foods I eat include egg whites, salmon, cod, and fruits. I also drink lots of water.
During the pandemic, I maintained my weight by watching what I ate and how much I ate. I didn’t want to let my hard work go to waste.
What is your workout routine? How often do you work out?
I have been working out two times a week with my trainer. Her brand name is Body by Lee, and she also does virtual training. I walk and do weight training with her. I also work out three times a week on my own. I do HIIT workouts and other things that my trainer has shown me when I’m not working out with her.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 246 pounds, and now I weigh 199 pounds. I have about 30 more pounds to go.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in July of 2019 with the help of my trainer. It took a year and ten months to lose the weight. In total, it’s been almost two years, and I still want to lose more weight.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I didn’t have weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
There are so many times when I failed, and I wanted to give up, but I didn’t give up. When I start to give up, I learned that I need to think about how I will look and feel after the weight is gone.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
I say to the women out there who are struggling, don’t give up and don’t give in. Don’t let anyone’s negative talk steer you into a downward spiral.
