Clarinda lost 100 pounds. She didn’t let living with Lupus stop her from exercising. An herbal remedy helped her push thru the pain. Depriving herself of things like wine, bacon or chocolate was not an option, so she used moderation to get results. Check out her transformation story.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was having to deal with Lupus. I was inspired by all of my friends who have passed away from Lupus.
How did you change your eating habits?
If it was white, I tried not to eat it. I still ate what I wanted, whenever I wanted. I just ate less crap. I never deprived myself of things like wine, bacon or chocolate.
What did your workout routine look like?
I work out 5 times per week, and I do yoga. Marijuana helped me tremendously. There is no way that I could have had the disciple to start doing this without it. It helped me to be able to push through the pain every day and finish a workout. It is amazing!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I’ve gone from 310 pounds to 210 pounds. My height is 5’3″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in October 2016, so it’s been about 2 years. Weight loss surgery was not part of my journey. Having Lupus and getting anything synthetic implanted inside of you could cause your body to do all kinds of crazy stuff. I worked at a surgical weight loss clinic and saw the devastation of those who had the surgery. If their mindset doesn’t catch up to their bodies, it causes emotional problems (of which I don’t need any more of). If your mind isn’t right, surgery is only a temporary solution.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Pain is not permanent.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Do whatever works for you. People think I am crazy when I tell them that marijuana helped me reach my goal. It worked for me. It may not be for you, but don’t judge my choice.
