Update: Christol has lost 60+ pounds.
Transformation of the Day: Christol lost 52 pounds. This mom of 2 worked out at home, cleaned up her eating habits and committed to lifestyle change. She figured out what worked for her and now she’s coaching others on their journeys as well. Check out her story.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was finding something that worked for me so that I wouldn’t have to worry about dieting for the rest of my life. I needed a lifestyle change. I was tired of crying to my husband about the way that I looked. Today, I am a fitness coach, so the fact that I had even one person calling me “coach” meant that I couldn’t quit. I also wanted to see what my body was capable of. I’ve never been small. I’ve always worn double digit sizes as an adult.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out fast food, processed foods, white flour and fried foods completely. I very rarely have foods with sugar. I use raw honey as a natural sweetener in recipes. I found the foods that were clean that I loved. For example, I love omelets and my flourless banana bread. There are so many healthier alternatives to the things we love. Eating clean isn’t boring or difficult at all once you know all the options available to you. I followed a Beachbody meal plan and I drink Shakeology daily. It has been key in making sure my body gets the nutrients it needs. What I love about it is that it’s not a diet shake.
What did your workout routines look like?
I did Beachbody workouts for the past 14 months. I workout 6 days a week FROM HOME. I needed something I could do from home because I have 2 small children. My oldest son is 8 years old and my youngest son is 2. My favorite programs include weight lifting because it really brings definition to your body while you’re losing the weight. I have done several programs including CIZE, Hammer & Chisel, 22 Minute Hard Corps and 21 Day Fix Extreme.
Starting weight/Current weight
When I started in August 2015, I weighed 214 pounds. I now weigh 162 pounds. I am 5’7″ tall.
How long did your transformation take?
I am still transforming but it took me 10 months to lose the majority of the weight, which was 50 pounds.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Don’t do it alone. We have a team of people who do this TOGETHER everyday. We have support groups and that is what has made the difference for myself and many other members of my team. Also, you have to want to change more than you want to stay the same.
