What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Three years ago, I started trauma-focused therapy. I realized I had to heal from the inside out if I really wanted a genuine lasting change. Depression and anxiety didn’t help with weight gain, of course. I also have always suffered from being overweight due to hormonal issues.
Since having my son and daughter and being in constant healing of my mental health, I knew it was time to work on the physical. They deserve a happy, healthy, and active mommy.
I have since been on an internal /external full-body wellness journey to be the best mother, wife, and self!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I had Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) on April 4, 2022. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself!
How did you change your eating habits?
I started slowly, removing sodas / cutting out bread. I also NEVER ate breakfast (which now I understand slows down the metabolism). Once I was able to do that, I simply started mixing my protein shake with my coffee. I also looked up Keto versions of the meals I wanted, and that helped tremendously.
What is your workout routine?
My routine consists of cardio, swimming, and strength training.
How often did you work out?
Two times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Highest weight: 315 pounds
Current weight: 248 pounds
What is your height?
5’4″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my weight loss journey this year. My transformation took three months, and it’s still in progress.
What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned so far?
Never give up on or doubt yourself. Don’t let others project their insecurities, fears, worries, or doubts on you.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Make a routine , stick to it the best you can . Be consistent.
