My name is Cherrell, and I wanted so badly to share my weight loss journey as I have been coming to this site for years. Now I can finally become part of the inspiration as I have been inspired by so many women featured here over the years. Although it took many years for me to finally get with it, I am here! Down 41 pounds!Β
What was your motivation?Β My motivation was myself. Honestly, I have been so big for many years, and I just felt like I owed it to myself to make a change.Β
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?Β What has been helping the most is reminding myself that I didn’t come this far for nothing! Why give up? Why do all that hard work just to go back and be sad, fat, and then start all over again. It’s a no for me! Keep going!Β
How did you change your eating habits?Β I kicked off this weight loss journey first by changing my eating habits. I did theΒ Whole30, which meant eating Whole Foods, cutting out ALL sugars (added sugars), grains, etc. I only drink water and La Croix’s.Β
All my meals have beenΒ Whole30Β even after completing the first 30 days. The only things I have incorporated since ending the 30 days of Whole30 are paleo toaster waffles with pure maple syrup and keto ice cream (when it’s around that time of the month). I have one or two cheat MEALS (not DAYS) a month to trick my metabolism. This has helped me not to hit that plateau. The body becomes used to routines, and then it just stays steady. You have to trick your body and muscles!Β
What is your workout routine?Β I work out 5-7 days a week for at least an hour. The most I’ll do is 2 hours in one session. Primarily, I do tons of resistance training, weight lifting, and cardio. I switch up my workouts every day. Again, I do this so my body doesn’t get used to the workouts, and I continue to lose weight.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?Β I started at 250 pounds. I now weigh 209 pounds, and my goal weight is 160 pounds.Β
What is your height?Β I’m 5 feet, 4 inches tall.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?Β No!
When did you start your journey?Β I started on 4/14/2022.Β
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?Β Consistency is KEY!Β
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?Β Just do it for you and nobody else! Show up and get it done.
