Cherie lost 46 pounds. This mom of three is also a truck driver. She was tired of feeling unhealthy, dealing with knee pain, and being sad when she looked in the mirror. She began her journey in March with clean eating and exercise.
I’m a mother of three, almost 40 years old, and I work full time as a truck driver. Sitting in the driver’s seat all day and not eating healthy caused me to pack on the pounds. As a driver, you tend to eat unhealthy food, and you don’t work out too much.
Each day, I came home to my children and my husband to cook meals that were staples in my community while growing up. I’m talking about things like fried chicken, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. It took its toll on me.
My asthma was at an all-time high because I was overweight and unhealthy. I also got tired of my knees hurting and being so sad when I looked in the mirror, so I made a change. I started my workout journey on March 26, 2020. I decided to buckle down not only for myself but for my children and my husband as well. I wanted to inspire my family to lead healthier lifestyles.
“Cherie, you are worth living healthy.” That’s what I tell myself every day.
I started eating healthy, exercising, and BOOM…the weight fell off. I’m glad I took the leap, and I’m getting better day by day. I went from 235 pounds to 189 pounds. (height: 5’10”)
I work out six days a week. I do cardio, weight training, and ab exercises. I eat clean – no carbs, no sugar, no soda, and no junk whatsoever. I eat high protein meals and lots of veggies.
I continued to keep going to maintain the person I saw walking on the beach but never thought I could be. I’m proud to say I’m one hot momma, lol.
My Advice: Push through even when you’re tired. Push through when you’re exhausted. It’s so easy to say I’ll do it tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes. Dedication and commitment can take you a long way if you allow it.
