“Just an update. I am over 60 pounds down. New weight: 199 pounds.”
Chantelle lost 51 pounds. She knew that if she was going to be able to take care of everyone else, she had to make her health a priority. By making healthier food choices, practicing intermittent fasting and working out, she has transformed.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
I have been overweight for the majority of my life. My weight loss journey began after my doctors told me that weight loss would be my best bet. I knew that if I was going to take care of everyone else well, I had to take care of myself first. Also, my young son depends on me to keep up with him when he’s practicing sports.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started by making healthier food choices. I eat cleaner, and I have also started intermittent fasting.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
I started playing adult league soccer. I also added walking into my bodyweight workout routine. I work out 4 to 6 days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 261 pounds, and my current weight is 210 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’6″.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in 2018.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned so far is, “Nothing works but work.” I was going to either do the work or not. The choice was mine! I realized I was stronger than I thought.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
I promise that you can do it! When you feel like you want to give up, remember who you are and keep going!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I didn’t have weight loss surgery.
