Transformation of the Day: Chantelle lost 36 pounds. She started her transformation journey in March, as she addressed how her insecurities and lack of confidence were related to her weight gain. She found success by joining a challenge group for accountability and using Beachbody programs.
When did you start your journey?
I officially started working out again at the end of March 2020. I weighed in at 230 pounds, and my height is 5’6 “. I started working out in a challenge group led by a friend.
What was your motivation?
I began my journey at a point when I realized I was wearing my insecurities in my body—being overweight was my forever body trying to get my attention. My lack of confidence was my CONFIDENCE trying to get my attention.
Between March 2020 and May 2020, I dropped the WAIT. Read that again. I dropped the WAIT. I allowed myself to be supported and permitted myself to invest in my health.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by getting on a custom meal plan that uses portion control containers. I get to eat from every food group while easily monitoring how much I eat. No more overeating for me! I mainly eat low carb meals, and I have incorporated a lot more vegetables into my diet than I previously ate.
Tell us about your workout routine.
I turned my home into a VIRTUAL gym and joined a great TRIBE for accountability. Giving myself permission to align was the best decision I could have made. I typically work out five days a week. I often go for walks or jogging in the morning. My first program with Beachbody was 10 Rounds, which I really enjoyed. I’m currently doing Beachbody’s Muscle Burns Fat program.
What is your current weight?
Now, I am officially weighing in at 194 pounds. That’s a total loss of 36 pounds and counting! More impactful than that, I positioned myself to support others in their journey as well.
I realize that weight loss isn’t just about fitness. It’s a total transformation process of the mind, body, and spirit. I’ve learned a lot about myself and who I am becoming. My journey thus far has brought a deeper sense of purpose in my life.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, surgery is not a part of my journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson that I’ve learned is that some of the most rewarding things in life are on the opposite side of “uncomfortable.” Also, it’s okay to lean into our discomfort and to lean into that which we fear. We don’t have to stay stuck.
What advice would you like to share?
My advice to women trying to lose weight: DROP THE WAIT. If you’re waiting on perfect conditions or hiding behind excuses, the perfect time is now (Ecclesiastes 11:4)!
