Chanie lost 35 pounds with healthy eating habits, exercise and prayer. Her journey started when she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure after giving birth. She reached out several people for advice, including her cousin who told her about a weight loss coach.
What is your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation to lose weight came when I got diagnosed with congestive heart failure after giving birth to my last baby girl. I could hardly breathe when I walked anywhere. I knew I had to change my way of eating and thinking. My children have inspired me to keep going.
When the doctor first told me that I had CHF, I didn’t know what to think. I remember lying in bed, praying, crying, and thanking God for sparing my life for my children. I asked God to give me direction, strength, willpower, courage, and the understanding to change me.
I started researching different ways to eat. I spoke with several people about what they ate to lose weight. Some were vegans, pescatarians, or vegetarians. I wasn’t ready to go that way just yet, so I decided to call my cousin and vent to him like I usually do. I told him what was going on, and he told me about Terry Starks.
So, I researched Terry Starks on Facebook. I was so impressed with the many transformations that his clients have achieved. Those women looked beautiful. I decided to give Terry Starks a try, which has proved to be the best decision I have ever made in my life.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped eating all the things that are bad for me; Chips, soda, candy, and cake. I stopped going out to eat and eating fast food. The foods that I started eating were lean meats, fruits, and vegetables.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I followed Terry’s plan and worked out 30 to 35 mins a day. I walked on the treadmill, and I rode my bike. I also walked the lake trail daily.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 230 pounds, and my current weight is 195 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’3″.
How long did your transformation take?
My transformation took eight weeks.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Don’t ever get too relaxed. Don’t wait until something is wrong with you and you end up in the hospital before you do something about your weight. Also, don’t get so caught up in your daily life and forget about yourself.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I have never had weight loss surgery.
I thank God for Terry Starks and his program. I thank God for being able to stay focused. When I wanted to give up, God and Terry Starks kept me going on this life-changing experience.
