Transformation of the Day: Chandra lost 68 pounds. She decided to change her lifestyle because agonizing acute pain due to Fibromyalgia and Avascular Necrosis. They key to her success has been a focus on eating whole food, specifically more plant foods. Check out her transformation.
What was your motivation?
My weight has gone up and down for the past few years. When I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I knew I had a life of acute pain ahead of me. I knew that changing my eating habits would assist in me being able to have an acceptable pain level. I needed to be able to face myself with the agonizing challenges I was about to face. In December 2017, I was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis as well. I had to do something to eliminate as much pain as possible.
When did you start your journey?
I have had multiple unsuccessful attempts at losing weight, starting and stopping because I didn’t get results. My current journey was started in January 2018, so it’s been 7 months.
How did you change your eating habits?
I eliminated carbs and sugar from my diet. My eating consisted mainly of vegetables, fruit and fish. All of the fruit I ate ended in “Berry”. Strawberry, raspberry, and blueberries. I cut out processed foods completely. I also cut back on dairy, which I may have had once or twice a month.
What did your workout routine look like?
After I had surgery in January of this year, I wasn’t able to exercise due to the impact of the surgery and my medical condition. In April, I started walking 5-6 days a week for 30-60 minutes daily.
What was your starting weight?
My starting weight was 292.8 pounds. My current weight is 224.1 pounds. My height is 5’6″. No weight loss surgery was involved in my transformation. I am not done yet. I want to drop 35 more pounds.
What’s the biggest lesson learned?
I learned that if you eat right 100% of the time, you can change your body. Exercise is important as well, but I was in a position where I couldn’t exercise for the first 4 months of this journey. Eliminate the bad carbs and eat a plant based diet. The results will come quickly.
During this entire journey, I can still hear my trainer, Rapid Results with Nealy, say, “Let me know when you get tired of taking those Blood Pressure Pills”. I know that my health is priority number one and I had to do this for me. I trained with Nealy before my last diagnosis and he was very encouraging. I learned from him how to change my mindset and focus. I absolutely can’t wait to train with him again.
