Celeste lost 62 pounds. Over the course of this year, this young lady has figured out what works for her. Eating the foods she loves in moderation, weight training and HIIT workouts are all part of her plan. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation? What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
I always tried to lose weight, but I never kept going. On January 1, 2018, I decided to change my life and lose weight. When February came, I honestly wanted to give up cause I didn’t feel like I was losing weight quick enough. I was working out, but my eating routine wasn’t up to par. On March 1st, I said to myself, “I always give up, so I wonder what would happen if I didn’t?” Today, I am 62 pounds down and feeling extraordinary!
How did you change your eating habits?
Instead of eating like a bird or trying to starve and deprive myself, I just ate in moderation. I still have sweets and things that I enjoy, but not as much as I used to. I eat more healthy foods than I do unhealthy.
Tell us about your workout routine.
My workout routine is doing the RI28 program (a HIIT cardio program created by Gee Bryant) and weightlifting. I usually work out 3 – 6 days a week depending on my workload.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 291 pounds on Jan 1st. I currently weigh 229 pounds. My highest weight was 295 pounds. I am 5’5″. It took 7 months to get to where I’m now. (No weight loss surgery was involved.)
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I’ve learned that no matter what, if you want something bad enough you will do what you have to achieve that goal.
What advice do you have for other women who want to lose weight?
Never give up! It is an uphill battle, and at times you will feel like it’s not worth it. Keep going. The end result will have you flabbergasted. Also, take A LOT of pictures. The scale can be picky, but pictures will really show your progress!
