Catrisha lost 80 pounds. She was always a “big girl” and always loved her curves, but she decided to release the weight for health reasons. Meal prepping, juicing and exercising 5-6 days per week worked for her. Check out her story.
What was your motivation?
I have ALWAYS been a big girl. I was always told, “You carry your weight well.” and “You’re big-boned. You’re not meant to be small”. I also heard, “You have a pretty face. Very pretty for a big girl.” I believed all of that to be true, so I never tried to lose weight. Eventually, I decided to try for health reasons. Truth is, being overweight makes you more susceptible to illness and diseases. No matter how good it looks, it’s not healthy. I love my curves, and I enjoyed being a big girl! I just decided to give weight loss a try for health reasons.
I lost a bunch of weight before having my daughter (90lbs), but I had a tough time adjusting to pregnancy and being a mother once she arrived. The weight just piled back on again…LIFE! I kind of gave up. However, I must say that my daughter is a BLESSING! Wouldn’t trade her or the experience for anything!
My daughter is 9 years old now and one day I just said ENOUGH! I can and will do this! I started my journey on Dec 29, 2016. I didn’t want surgery. It works for lots of people and I commend them for that hard journey, but it’s just not for me.
I began meal prepping, juicing and exercising 5-6 days per week. I did 2-3 days of cardio and 3-4 days of weight training. My workouts are therapy for me and I enjoy preparing my own food. I also began following inspirational posts and success stories on Instagram (suggested by my husband. He is a GREAT motivator and my biggest supporter. Thanks, Babe! @utleythetrainer) That was the best thing I could have ever done. Slow and steady.
I figured that I’d post my story since this at my halfway mark. I’m 80 pounds down and counting. My starting weight was 360 pounds and my current weight is 280 pounds. My height is 5’9″. To God be the Glory! I feel so blessed.
If I can encourage someone, I’d say YOU GOT THIS! You can do it! Just take it one day at a time and do it for yourself. Pay no attention to negativity or doubters. They DO exist, but you have to have tunnel vision. See only your goal. I don’t post about my journey on my page but I plan to start. I know it will help somebody because other people’s stories have helped me.
