What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My ultimate motivation is my health and having a better quality of life. When I started this journey, I was struggling with a lot of extra weight. I often felt tired and noticed I was out of breath from everyday tasks like going up and down stairs, grocery shopping, etc.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started by making small changes to my diet to work on my portion control. Over time I found that alternating intermittent fasting and maintaining a calorie deficit while consistently monitoring my daily steps and exercise to be the most helpful routine for me.
What is your workout routine?
My workout mainly consists of working out at @Burn Boot Camp Cedar Park, TX 4-5 days a week. I also usually do cardio and strength training at Planet Fitness 1-2 times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My highest weight was 325 pounds, and my current weight is 205 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’7″.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I have not had any weight loss surgery.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
My current journey has been ongoing for about two years.
Photos: The photo in the elevator and the one in front of the wings are from 2021 – around the time I started my current weight loss journey. I also included a side-by-side comparison of my highest weight of 325 pounds in 2017 and where my weight was in 2022. The photos of me wearing the green dress and the pink leggings are from April and May of this year.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I work full-time and have five children and three dogs. Finding time to work out was hard initially, but I learned that I had to be intentional about making time to show up for myself.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Start with small changes and make small goals that you can commit to. Consistency is essential, but if you have a day or two where you get off track, don’t give up on your goal.
