Transformation of the Day: Bunmi lost 33 pounds. A low carb, ketogenic diet and walking daily for exercise worked for her. She even walked during super cold weather in Canada, where she lives. Check out her story.
My name is Bunmi and I call this my Revenge Body! Not because I have ever been body shamed, but because I got revenge against myself. I decided be healthy and to start living instead of surviving. I wanted to prove to myself that with God and determination, I can achieve my goals.
What inspired you to keep going during the tough times?
What keeps me moving is the mental picture of the ME I would like to see. I also had chronic gastritis and was tired of the pain!
How did you change your eating habits?
I moved from a regular full carb menu to a Ketogenic diet. I payed attention to my body and not the rules anybody else made.
What did your workout routine look like?
I walked for exercise every day, even in the extreme weather here in Saskatoon [Canada]! When it’s cold here, it’s BRUTALLY COLD. During the cold temperatures, I just bundle up and keep moving!
I walked for at least 60 minutes every day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I remember the evening that I stood right in front of a mirror, got on a scale and saw the numbers read out 219 pounds! I was terrified and I told myself that this was the last time I would weigh this month. Today, I weigh 186 pounds at 5’6″.
When did you start your journey?
I started on September 22nd, 2017.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
With the 3Ds, discipline, dedication and determination, you can achieve whatever it is you put your mind into.
What advice do you have for other women who want to lose weight?
Beauty comes in all shades and color! Gurl, Do it for you! and DO it right!
