Update: Your page kindly featured my weight loss story in May 2023, when I was 20 lbs down from my highest weight. Since then, I’ve lost an additional 30 lbs for a total of 50 pounds!!
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation is myself and my health, especially my identity in being someone who commits to goals.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started by limiting calories to 1500-1700, with a protein goal of 140g daily. I did not cut out any foods completely, but I limited my carbs and alcohol.
What is your workout routine? How often did you work out?
I take a strength training/HIIT class five to six days a week. I do cardio 1-3 days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 207 pounds and my current weight is 157 pounds. (goal weight is 145 lbs)
What is your height?
I’m 5’1″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
It began on Feb 1, 2003. I took 11 months to lose 50 pounds.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Consistency is the most important factor! You have to drop the excuses and learn to be uncomfortable.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Consistency is key. People have to have the mindset that they will need to do things they don’t want to do until those things become habits. Never give up on yourself.
