Transformation of the Day: Brittney lost 70 pounds by eating right and working out at home. She started her journey with the 10 Day Green Smoothie Challenge and Shawn T’s T25 workout program. Check out her story.
This thing called LIFE is really something! The picture on the left is from January 8th, 2018. The last picture was taken today, January 8,2019.
It never dawned on me how happy you think you are until you are actually happy. In the past, I was dealing with post-grad depression (it goes unnoticed, but it’s REAL), and other personal issues. It becomes natural to say, “I’m fine.” when you are not.
When I started to notice I was doing the “Fat Girl walk” I knew I had to make a change… a lifestyle change. I decided to do the 10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse by JJ Smith. This plan included three healthy green smoothies a day, and healthy snacks (such as low sodium tuna with vegan mayo, two boiled eggs, a handful of nuts, apples, and raw veggies), and a gallon of water. After the ten days, I switched to two healthy green smoothies a day, one low carb dinner and healthy snacks. I continued to drink a gallon of water each day. I cut out sugar, alcohol, processed food, and bread.
I worked out for five days out of a week with Shaun T’s T-25 DVDs. Eventually, I worked my way up to his Insanity workout. Every other weekend, I would walk around just to get my body moving.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 323 pounds. To this day, I’m still ashamed that I let myself get that heavy. My current weight is 253 pounds at 5’5″. I lost 70 pounds naturally!
What inspired you to keep going?
Surrounding myself with people who are on the same weight loss and fitness journey that I’m on, motivated me to keep going. Seeing other women who are overweight, just like me, successfully get the weight off gave me so much motivation. It has not been easy, but I’m up for the challenge. To some, it might seem like a small victory, but to me, this is something BIG. I’m on a mission.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that my body is a TEMPLE and not a GRAVESITE. I’m an emotional eater, and food is my comfort. I learned that I can still enjoy food, but it’s all about eating in moderation and being consistent.
What advice would you like to share?
My advice to anyone struggling with being overweight: You are not alone. Once you see progress, keep going. Consistency is the key. Surround yourself with people who are on the same journey.
Most importantly, patience is a virtue. The more patient and focused you are, everything will fall right into place, and your results will be amazing.
