Update: Shout out to Breanna. She has continued to make lots of progress since June. @b_vonschweetz
Transformation of the Day: Breanna lost 43 pounds. Emotional binge eating derailed her weight loss efforts in the past, but after giving birth to her daughter, she found her motivation. She eats a plant-based diet centered around whole foods and jumps rope for exercise.
What was your motivation? What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
I tried losing weight plenty of times in the past by working out and trying every diet known to man. Emotional binge eating always got the best of me. It wasn’t until I had my daughter last year that I finally got the motivation that I needed to change my life around.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped dieting and started eating. I was eating a vegan diet prior, but it consisted of a lot of vegan junk foods. So, I adopted a whole food, plant-based diet. 90% fruits, veggies, beans, minimally processed foods, etc. 10% of my diet was the other stuff I enjoyed (like vegan cookies and ice cream) Moderation is key!
What did your workout routine consist of?
Jumping rope! I jumped about 5 days a week. I create a different goal every day and just go for it!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Starting weight: 271 pounds
Current weight: 228 pounds
Goal weight: 190 pounds
What is your height?
I am 5’7″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I began my journey in September 2018. I’m 8 months in, and I am still on my journey.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
We sabotage our own success! Don’t talk yourself out of a workout. Just do it! Don’t give yourself a reason to start tomorrow. Give yourself a reason to start today!
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
Find your Why. That will help you stay disciplined when your motivation runs out.
