Transformation of the Day: BJ From the Block lost about 100 pounds, going from a size 22 to a size 8. With healthier eating habits and lots of cardio, she has toned her curves, and she refuses to give up. Check out her story.
I Love, love, LOVE your page. It has been such a motivation for me throughout my journey! I’m 22 years old, and I’ve lost around 100 lbs, going from a size 22 to a size 8. I want to encourage other ladies to get snatched for summer! You’re in control, Ladies! You get to choose!
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going during the tough times?
I had just gotten out of an abusive relationship and wanted to feel like myself again. I gained 70 lbs in 8 months, and I was the heaviest I’d ever been. I weighed 270 lbs at 5’9″ (size 22). I loved being curvy, but I wanted to define my shape.
Whenever it got hard, I remembered how far I had already come! Giving up on myself was not an option.
How did you change your eating habits?
I decided that I wanted to live my BEST life, even if that meant sacrificing my favorite snacks. I started with smaller portions, and I cut out fast/junk food! Cooking at home helped me control my sodium and sugar levels.
What was your exercise routine?
At first, I was cardio crazy! I did cardio and abs at least 3-4 times a week. I would run, get on the elliptical and even jump rope. I started seeing significant progress in less than three weeks. Before I knew it, I had lost 100 LBS in one year.
When did you start your journey?
December 2016
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I learned was to STAY CONSISTENT! Most of the time, we give up before we even start to see progress.
What advice would you like to share?
Don’t be so hard on yourself! Remember this is a lifestyle change and NOT a diet. As you keep getting up EVERY time you fall, you will be victorious!

You are an inspiration to all women. Not just those of us that are struggling with obesity. Over eating is just one factor of obesity. There mental things we need to address. Thank you for sharing you story. It is inspiring me. Praise God. A product of The Big M.
