Becky lost 16 pounds. She went through a major breakdown and almost lost everything. After that experience, she just wanted to feel happy and sexy again. She’s been working since September to release the weight. Check out how she did it.
What was your motivation? What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
I gained a lot of weight after I was diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder in 2016. I went through the biggest mental breakdown of my life. I lost almost everything due to that.
My motivation was just the idea of being happy again and feeling sexy in my skin again. What kept me from giving up was looking back at dark and depressing pictures of myself. I knew that if I stopped, I would go back to that toxic state of mind.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started with intermittent fasting which helps keep me from binge eating. I also used portion control as I transitioned to eating a low carb lifestyle.
I stopped drinking soda and sugary juices. I also stopped eating junk foods, like chips, crackers, and cakes. Instead, I have almonds and nuts. I stopped eating white rice and white bread and started eating lots of vegetables.
What did your workout routine look like?
I did cardio (treadmill or elliptical) and weight training. I work out four times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 225 pounds, and my current weight is 209 pounds. My height is 5’8”.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my weight loss journey on September 5, 2018. It took about a month to see a difference.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I’ve learned that you won’t get anywhere by sitting around & crying you have to put in the work.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
It’s really simple…Just don’t quit. It does get hard, and you will get to the point where you break down. It’s not an easy road, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. So keep on going.
