What was your motivation?
I mostly did it for my daughter because she’s very young. She’s only five years old, and I wanted to be an active mum and do everything with her. I also wanted to make her proud. So when I reached a BMI of 40, I was very scared that I could die sooner and leave my baby girl alone.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Seeing my body change throughout the months helped me a lot, as well as regaining energy. Also, it was literally crazy to see what I could do with my new body! I was able to take the stairs without being out of
breath.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Yes, I had gastric bypass surgery.
How did you change your eating habits?
Since I had a bypass, I eat way less and eat more often throughout the day. I mostly eat proteins. I completely stopped eating things like ice cream, sweets, and fries because it made me sick. A fun fact: I started eating cheese, and now I love it!
What is your workout routine?
Before the bypass, I was all about cardio and walking a lot. Since the bypass, I’ve been all about weightlifting. Throughout the weeks, I lift more and more weight. I’m so proud of myself because I never thought I could do this.
How often did you work out?
I work out five days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 267 lbs (121.5 kg). Now I weigh 153 pounds (69.8 kg).
What is your height?
5’6″ (1m72)
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
It’s been 15 months since I had the surgery, so it took me 15 months to get there.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned to be patient, be consistent, never give up, and how to have some moments of pleasure but not be guilty about it.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
It’s a really long process. You don’t want to go too fast. Also, you have to tell yourself that it’s a new lifestyle.
