Weight Loss Inspiration: Audrey lost 80 pounds. She wants you to know that it’s never too late and you are never to old to reach your health and wellness goals. Here is what she shared with us about her transformation:
“Hi! My name is Audrey. So far, I have lost 80 pounds. My before pictures don’t tell the whole story, as I put on an additional 30 pounds after they were taken! By then, I was too embarrassed to take pictures. I started my journey about 4 1/2 years ago. I’ve been overweight all my life as is the case with most of my family on both sides. I finally decided to change, but wasn’t really as committed as I should have been. I lost 50 pounds, and then put 40 back on. About a year ago, I FINALLY became serious.
I am now in a dress size that I haven’t worn since 1974 (my freshman year in college). I am still on my journey as I have another 40 pounds I need to lose. I started with a whopping 48.8% body fat! Yeah, I know…dangerous! I am now at 30% body fat. I cannot emphasize enough that this is truly a lifestyle change. I eat cleaner, drink about a gallon of water every day and I exercise regularly. I stopped frying my meats. I do allow myself the occasional piece of fried chicken or fish, just not that often. I eat 6 times a day which helps my metabolism. I have 3 meals around 350-400 calories and 3 snacks around 200. Soda is a rarity as is white flour products. I learned to eat oatmeal and sweet potatoes without the butter and brown sugar, as I’ve been accustomed to.
I have a personal trainer now and I strength train as well as do cardio. I will be 59 years old in July. I would say to anyone who is thinking it’s too late or you’re too old that I’m living proof that you aren’t. I’ve also had knee replacements 9 years ago. However, there’s always something you can do once your doctor clears you! I’m doing things now that I NEVER thought I would do! If I can, anyone can!”

Wow! Awesome is all I could utter but you have indeed become my no one inspiration. Your age no doubt about it has given me some more inner strength and reconnection that I too can be an inspiration to someone just as your story today has further motivated me. I wish you many healthy years to come!

Good to see someone on this thread over 45 doing their thing. I read the stories and they’re inspirational but everyone here is under 50! Their metabolisms are so very different then someone in their 40s or 50s like me. It is so refreshing to know that someone older can do it too! Thank you!
