Asianna lost 60 pounds. Her motivation came from being diagnosed with PCOS, and wanting to break the cycle of health problems in her family. Her journey began in Oct 2020, and she had Gastric Bypass surgery in January 2021. She shared with us the changes she made to create a healthier lifestyle.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? I was motivated to Break the cycle of my family’s health issues. Also, being diagnosed with PCOS in 2017 caused a lot of havoc in my life and put me at risk for other underlying health concerns. I refuse to let any diagnosis take control of me.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take? On 10/01/2020, I started my weight loss journey, but my Gastric Bypass surgery was 01/20/2021.
How did you change your eating habits? I switched to a high protein, low carb, and low sugar diet. I did this before and after weight loss surgery.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out? I work out 3 to 4 times a week at home or doing outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, and bike riding.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight? My highest weight record was 301.3 pounds. My starting weight was 288.8 pounds, and my current weight is 228.3 pounds.
What is your height? I’m 5’6″
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? Confidence comes from within, not from the number of the scale. During your weight loss journey, taking care of your mental health is equally important as physical health.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight? Follow your own path, and do not compare yourself to anyone else.
