Transformation of the Day: Ashley lost 50 pounds with healthier eating habits and exercise. She lost her job due to the current crisis, but she found a silver lining because the loss caused her to cut out fast food and cook more meals at home.
I’ve been struggling with eating habits my entire life, but I decided to take back my life in 2020. I lost my job due to #COVID19, but it has allowed me to cut out fast foods and start cooking for myself. I’m staying positive, I’m down 50 pounds, and I look forward to becoming healthy. Healthy is my GOAL weight.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
To be honest, my motivation was a desire to “look sexy.” I have always been big, so just wanting something different kept me going when I wanted to give up.
How did you change your eating habits?
This was the hardest part of my journey. I’m not your typical “weight loss gal.” I didn’t even attempt a diet. I already had the negative mindset that I wasn’t going to stick to it, so I didn’t even try. I recently started my keto journey on April 1.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you workout?
I do a mixture of weight training, cardio, and MAINLY calisthenics (during the quarantine). YouTube University saved my life, lol.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Starting weight: 232 pounds (105.2kg)
Current weight: 182 pounds (82.5kg)
What is your height?
5’6″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in 2018, and then I gained the weight back. In 2020, it has taken me four months to lose 32lbs.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Quitters never win! It’s a cliché, but it’s true. When I finally accepted the change, results soon followed.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
I mean this in the most politically correct fashion: Stay in your lane. The whole point of this is that THIS is a journey. Which means, “a LONG and often difficult process of personal change and development.”
Don’t worry about the next person. All the energy you are wasting could be directed towards bettering yourself! Choose YOU for once. Make a change today, no matter how small!
I look forward to inspiring and motivating more people that I come in contact with, ONE screen at a time.
