Transformation of the Day: Ariel lost 51 pounds. For her, this process is about becoming the best person she can be for herself. She made fitness a priority and adopted the Keto lifestyle, bringing her carb intake to 14-20 grams a day.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation for weight loss was and still is being a better Ariel. I understood what I needed to do. This journey is for me and no one else.
Honestly, once I started the journey, I didn’t once get the urge to give up. Each day I go harder and harder to be better than I was the day before.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by going on a Keto diet. Instead of eating 300 plus grams of carbs a day, I dropped down to about 14-20 grams a day. I also totally removed sugary drinks, and I drink about a gallon of water a day.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I began to work out 5 days a week at home. Then I transitioned to the gym. I do plenty of cardio and weight lifting. Also, I recently started cycling about 2 months ago.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 230 pounds, and I currently weigh 179 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’3″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take? I started my journey in January 2021, and my transformation took approximately 6 months. I am still going.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? The biggest lesson I learned so far is this is a marathon, not a race and that this journey is as much mental as it is physical.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight? My advice to women wanting to lose weight is to make sure it is for YOU! Don’t do this for a spouse, a friend, or your children. Do this for YOU. The reward will be much greater.
