Aramide lost 70 pounds by making healthy lifestyle changes. She was tired of feeling weak, her body ached, and she had constant headaches. With her health and energy levels in mind, she decided to release the weight and get active.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I felt lazy, weak, and tired. If I wasn’t working, I was sleeping during the day and up at night. My body ached for no reason, and I always had headaches.
I wanted to do something to make me feel energized and happy. I knew that losing weight will make me feel good. I’ve tried losing weight plenty of times in the past and ended up putting twice as much back on.
One day, I decided to start jogging. First, I started with long walks each morning. Next, I began to run 1k, 2k, 3k before hitting my first 5k and feeling very proud of myself. I tell myself every morning, five times, what my goals are for the day. I am my own motivation.
How did you change your eating habits?
I made sure I ate as much as I needed. If I felt like I needed energy, I’d make sure I ate the right food. Sometimes I may eat takeout, fast food, junk, etc. However, compared to my previous eating habits, I’m doing better. I monitor how much I’m eating because I tend to binge eat.
What did your workout routine consist of?
My workout involved hiking, jogging, gym, stretches, and work itself.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight is 278 pounds, and my current weight is 208 pounds.
What is your height?
5’10”
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started on May 23rd, 2020, and I’m still transforming.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
It’s not a race. It’s a journey. There will be ups and downs but keep moving forward mentally and physically!
