Transformation of the Day: Anne lost 98 pounds. Eating more whole foods, planning out her meals and prioritizing exercise has allowed this mom to release the weight and keep it off. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was my health concerns. I knew that being overweight was not healthy, so I took matters into my own hands to change my life and create a new lifestyle. I joined a local gym, hired a personal trainer, and started my journey.
Giving up was not an option. I knew if I wanted to have children one day, I needed to change my lifestyle, so I kept going. I told myself that by the time I have my first child, I would be in the 150s. My starting weight was 250 pounds, and I’m 5’2″. My current weight is 152 pounds.
When did you start your journey?
My weight loss journey began in 2009, and I never looked back. I fell down, but I picked myself back up again every time. I had to learn to motivate myself because no one would do it for me. I woke up every day and pushed myself to the limits because I had a goal in mind and had to achieve it. My transformation took time, but I didn’t care
because I wanted this journey to be a long term process, so I took it one day at a time. Family and friends started to notice the change, so I knew I was on the right track.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by incorporating more whole foods. I stayed
away from processed foods, fried food, and avoided carbs as much as possible. I began to plan out meals that consist of more leafy greens, proteins, and veggies. Eating a balanced diet provided me the energy to go hard at the gym.
Tell us about your workout routine.
I work out five days a week. I did lots of cardio at the beginning of my journey (walking, cycling, and elliptical machine) then I started to practice strength training, which really helped me to build muscle while losing fat.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned while on this journey is that I am
capable of doing anything I set my mind to, as long I stay consistent and never give up. I want all of you to know that weight loss is possible. You can choose the healthy road. You have to change your mindset, have a goal in mind, and go for it.
What advice would you like to share?
You will fall, and sometimes you will want to give up. Just remember to never stay down. Always get yourself back up again and keep going. NEVER GIVE UP on YOU.
