Transformation of the Day: Anima lost 34 pounds and reached 18% body fat. This busy single mom of 4 has transformed her body with clean eating and exercise over the last 2 years. Her advice is, “Don’t look at someone else’s chapter 20, when your just on chapter 1.” Check out how she did it.
My name is Anima B. I started working out because I wanted to feel more confident in my clothes. My self esteem had dropped so low that I didn’t enjoy shopping or getting dressed to go anywhere because I felt I didn’t look my best. Once my friend started discussing with me how important health is and why I should invest my free time doing some form of exercise. So, I decided to tag along with her to gym. After going with her for a while, I started eating healthy because I felt great after leaving the gym. Being a single mom raising 4 kids (but I gave birth to 2) it was hard trying to juggle the gym, school, work and play dates with my kids. At the same time, I still was able to work on myself, day by day. I’ve failed a few times and when I remember WHY I STARTED, I started right back over again! It’s a journey that not many people can take, but those that did– they know suffering, sacrifice and what it feels like too be a winner!
What was your motivation?
My motivation was to get into shape. Looking at others who were sharing there stories helped a lot with my dedication and helped me stick to the plan. Going to school and taking up the gym as a part of my daily life has given me the strength to know I can overcome anything! NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE. Yes, the journey was hard but it was worth it.
How did you change your eating habits?
I love food, so eating clean wasn’t so bad. The temptation hits when you have 4 kids who want cookies! I cut out bread, pasta and rice. I ate greens, plenty of seafood and chicken. I stayed off the red meat for awhile, and just stuck to fruits, wheat, low-fat, low calories, low carbs, and no salt or sugar!
What did your workout routines look like?
I worked out 5 days a week for 2 hours minimum. I worked out even when I had work and school. I’ll remind you that I’m a mom to 4!!
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 187, waistline 42 inches. My current weight is 153, Waistline 27 inches. 18% body fat and 5 feet, 7 inches tall. No surgery.
How long did your transformation take?
I started on September 17, 2014. It took 3 months to start seeing results. From 187-174-167-150-148-153… lol.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Never STOP! Don’t look at someone else’s chapter 20, when your just on chapter 1.
