Anika lost 57 pounds. She was tired of high blood pressure, neuropathy in her leg, and feeling tired. PCOS made is challenging for her to lose weight, but she was determined to find a solution. That solution came in the form of the Ketogenic diet.
What was your motivation?
I’ve been struggling to lose weight ever since having my daughter six years ago. After years of trying and failing, I thought that this was just the way my body was meant to be. Having PCOS always made it more challenging for me to lose weight. I grew tired of high blood pressure, neuropathy in my leg, and feeling tired all the time. After trying everything under the sun, I became interested in the Keto diet.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started Keto in August 2019, and I have not looked back since. Being on Keto gives me the versatility that I need, and I never grow hungry or bored. I still eat most of my favorite foods by making a keto version instead. I also fast every morning until lunch, and I don’t eat more than 40 net carbs per day.
What is your workout routine?
I work out twice a week at home, but I plan on joining the gym once quarantine is over. I use aerobics and dance workouts that I find on Youtube.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 289 pounds, and now I weigh 232 pounds. With focus and determination, you can conquer any goal.
What is your height?
5’6″
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned that consistency is key.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Be persistent, set small goals, and plan on how to reach those goals. Be gentle on yourselves when you slip up because there is always tomorrow.
