Transformation of the Day: Angie lost 84 pounds. This mom from Montreal wrote in to share her success story with us. She found such a love for this process that she started a transformation center to help others.
I’ve lost 84 pounds in less than a year! In 2014, I gave birth to two beautiful girls. The pregnancy left me with a huge amount of weight to lose.
What was your motivation? What kept you going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was a desire to take care of me. I wanted to feel great in my skin again. What kept me going is that, when I lost my first 30 pounds I decided to open a weight loss and fitness center (Centre de Transformation) with a good friend of mine who has lost 100 pounds. That decision became huge motivation for me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out fried foods, sodas and the cake that I love so much. With the help of a nutritionist, I developed a nutritional plan that I was able to follow. My diet consists of eating healthy food, like lean protein (baked chicken breast) and vegetables. I allow myself to have one cheat meal every 2 weeks. To stay on course, I use the application My Fitness Pal to monitor the amount of calories I eat per day.
What did your workout routines look like?
I workout 4 times a week at my fitness/transformation center, JayTrain. I take 2 cardio classes, one full body workout class and one weight training class.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 234 pounds. My current weight is 150 pounds. My height is 5’4″.
When did you start your journey?
I began this journey in August 2014. I lost most of my weight in a span of 8 months.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My advice would be to focus on changing your negative eating habits. Food is 80% of the weight loss equation. Surround yourself with people that have the same goals.
