Transformation of the Day: Angemie lost 45 pounds. She lost 75 pounds in 2018. However, due to postpartum depression and the stress of the pandemic, she regained 75+ pounds. Her goal is to be a healthy, happy, and confident example for her daughter.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I have so many reasons; I did this before. I lost 75 pounds in 2018 and then became pregnant. God blessed me with a beautiful baby girl. Then, the pandemic mixed with postpartum depression caused me to regain that 75 pounds plus more.
I want to do this for my child; I have a toddler who I want to play with and not feel tired. I want to be an example for my princess.
I also want to feel comfortable in my skin; I want to walk into a store and pick out what I want to wear without feeling shame about my body. I felt depressed and lost, but now I am gaining my confidence back.
How did you change your eating habits?
I did not stop eating anything. I mostly use portion control and workout. I each pretty much eat anything I crave but in smaller portions.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out 5-6 times a week. I love cardio, so I do cardio for about 60 minutes daily. I also lift weights.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 255 pounds, and now I am at 210 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started on May 26, 2021, so almost four months and counting.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Be patient with yourself and remain consistent. On the days you slack up, remember that you are human, and it’s okay. However, what’s not is okay is giving up.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
You didn’t gain the weight in a day, a week, or a month. Therefore, don’t expect to lose it so quickly. Be your own cheerleader because not everyone will clap for you. Also, remember if no one is rooting for you, know that I am.
You got this. Do Not Give Up.
