Angela lost 50 pounds by changing her eating habits and working with a supportive personal trainer. Her journey began after her doctor advised her to lose some pounds and stop eating fast food. She wants to be a healthy example for her grandchildren and feel good, both inside and out.
My weight loss journey began on April 8, 2020, and I weighed 227 pounds. I went to the doctor for a physical checkup. I was experiencing body aches, especially in my legs. My doctor advised me to lose weight and stop eating out because I had a lot of build-up from sodium in my body. During my total body transformation, I have lost over 50 pounds. My current weight is 177 pounds.
What was your motivation?
I want to feel good inside and outside and be an example for my grandchildren.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My personal trainer Bostin Biamonte was very supportive and helped me get to the level next. I want to send a special thanks to him for motivating and coaching me thru the entire process.
How did you change your eating habits?
Before I started this journey, I ate restaurant food (Jack in the Box, for example), fried food, etc. During this journey, I developed consistent, healthy eating habits. Some of the foods/beverages I have include apples, raisins, cranberries, soups, salads, unlimited tuna, unlimited lemon water, sweet potatoes, beets, three eggs daily, etc.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I work out for 30 to 60 minutes, and my workouts include 20 mins cardio and light weights. I work out twice a week with my trainer.
What is your height?
5’7″
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My big lesson was monitoring my stress level and beware of any medication that can cause weight gain.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Prepare your own meals, be consistent, and never give up on yourself. Talk with your doctor and personal trainer (if you have one in place).
