When did you start your journey?
I started this journey in January 2018.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 240 pounds at 5’4″. My current weight is 209.2 pounds.
What was your inspiration? What kept you going when you wanted to give up?
My inspiration was and is to be free of high blood pressure and diabetes medications. I also wanted to be free from girdles and to get back to wearing some of the nice clothes I have. I heard about this young man named Terry Starks and I went to his Facebook page. There saw all the young ladies he helped to transform in 35 days! I was INSPIRED. I used his meal plan and in 35 days the transformation it was real. No more girdles or diet pills! Terry Starks is very inspirational and encouraging.
How did you change your eating habits?
I ate small proportions and ate every 3 hours using the meal plan that Terry created for me. I don’t drink sodas. No bread and no pasta at this point! I eat a lot of vegetables, fruit and protein (fish and chicken) Drink lots of water and juice (orange juice and apple)! Now, I eat 4-5 very small meals a day.
What was your workout routine?
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I worked out with the Leslie Samson walking DVD. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, I rode my bike for 15 minutes and walked 3 laps around the mall. I’m still doing this!
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson through this journey: Believe in yourself and to this for you… no one else, because if you do you’ll fail every time.
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
Put the scales away and use the mirror instead. The numbers on the scale can fool you. Make this a lifestyle and not something you do for 6-8 weeks! Stay focused on yourself.
Keep God first and ask him to help you through this journey! He will.
