Transformation of the Day: Angela lost 143 pounds. She is a cancer survivor and a mom of two who just wanted to have the energy to play outside with her children. She also wanted to fulfill a promise made to her grandmother before she passed. Check out how she released the weight.
What was your motivation?
I am a mother of 2 beautiful children and I wanted to live instead of just existing. I promised my grandmother before she passed that I would do my best in order to prolong my life.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
The promise to my grandmother inspired me. I was also inspired by thinking about my current situation and how I wanted out so badly. I loved roller coasters and could not fit in the seats to ride them. My children were asking why I never played with them. I was generally sick and tired of being sick and tired.
How did you change your eating habits?
I’m a cancer survivor (2006-2012) and that changed everything! I cut back on fried food and started eating more smaller portions thru out the day. You have to eat breakfast! I no longer eat beef or pork. On top of that I cut out excess sugar. I started eating more vegetables, especially green ones, and fruit. I eat a lot of seafood and chicken as well.
What did your workout routines look like?
I workout 3-4 times a week. I just used the treadmill in the beginning and now I lift weights too. On the treadmill, I generally walked a mile. At first, I started out very slow, so it took me almost 45 mins to do a mile. Now, I do my mile in about 15 minutes and I use the incline too. Today, when I go to the gym, I workout for about an hour and a half. I do 15 mins on the treadmill, 10 mins stretching, 45 mins on weights, and an additional 10-20 minutes on the cycle or treadmill to cool down.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 378 pounds and my current weight is 235 pounds. I’m 5’6.5″ tall.
How long did your transformation take?
I really started consistently in 2014, so it’s been about 1.5 years. All natural. No surgery.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight? You have to want to do it for yourself! Be consistent and everything will fall into place. Discipline yourself so that eating healthier and exercising on a regular basis will be easier.

You are an inspiration, thank you for sharing and God Bless you on your journey. Mine began 9 months ago and I honestly didn’t commit fully until I decided it was going to be a life change not some stupid diet or get skinny quick. I love the fact that it has made love to cook again. Lol thank you so much again for that BIG boost of motivation. See ya soon!
