Aneshia lost 44 pounds. Her transformation journey began after her doctor warned her that she was at risk for Type 2 Diabetes. By eating the foods she loves in moderation and working out at home five days a week, she has transformed and broken the cycle of giving up on herself.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was myself, my children, and my husband. At a doctor’s appointment last year in November, I was told that I was close to developing Type 2 Diabetes if I did not lose weight. I want to be around for my family because we still have so many things to see and do together. That’s what keeps me going!
How did you change your eating habits?
I still eat all of the foods I love. I just eat them in moderation. I am very conscious of the food I consume.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I mainly use at-home workout routines from YouTube by Fitness Marshall, Keaira Lashae, Dance Fitness with Jessica, Fit Body by Ashley, and Team Body Project. I also enjoy walking in the park. I work out five days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 307 pounds, and I currently weigh 263 pounds.
What is your height?
5’7″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my transformation in late January 2020, but I didn’t start taking it seriously until June. That’s when I truly buckled down and stop giving up on myself.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I did not, and I’m not considering surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned is that every day is not going to be perfect. I will have days when I consume too much chocolate or a day I skip a workout, but it is ok. I no longer let one bad day dictate my journey. I keep going, and I stay consistent.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Losing weight is not all about exercise. You have to be mindful of what you eat and the amount of food you consume. Also, stay consistent because this journey is not easy.
One last thing: Take progress pictures because it is so hard to tell when you are losing weight. If it weren’t for my progress pictures, I would have given up because everything looks the same to me, lol.
