What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was a desire to be here to raise my son. I also wanted to feel better about myself overall.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started eating within a calorie deficit and ate low carb, low-calorie foods. I also stopped drinking sodas and juices. My intermittent fasting schedule is 16:8.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 263 pounds, and my current weight is 205 pounds.
What is your height?
5’3″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in March. I’m still on my journey and working to lose more pounds.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I wanted weight loss surgery, and I actually found a surgeon and started the process. However, with the pandemic going on, my plans were interrupted. I finally decided that I would and could do this on my own and without surgery. I’m happy that I didn’t give up.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson during all of this was realizing that consistency is everything. You will only lose weight when you’re ready to make a change.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Never compare your weight loss journey to someone else’s. Also, don’t look at your new lifestyle as punishment or a “diet”!
