Transformation of the Day: Alicia lost 78 pounds. Her New Year’s Resolution for 2020 was to create a healthier lifestyle and address her emotional and physical weight. After seeing her co-worker’s results with a Ketogenic lifestyle, she decided to do her research and try it.
Greetings! I am so excited to share my weight release journey with you!
My journey started in January 2020. I know, so cliche the whole new year’s resolution thing. However, I was determined to change not only my pants size but also my emotional obesity.
One of my co-workers had begun living a ketogenic lifestyle, so I started asking her questions. After seeing how awesome she looked, I was intrigued. Next, I did my own research for about two weeks, and then I started.
How did you change your eating habits?
My whole way of looking at food changed. Of course, I gave up carbs, sugars, and fast food. I also started cooking my own meals and taking time to really prepare my refueling meals myself. At first, I wasn’t sure if I could do it, but as time went on and the pounds started to shed, I discovered that I am very determined.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My routine consisted mainly of cardio. I would walk for an hour 4 days per week. I would also do core training in the gym three days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My beginning weight was 285 pounds, and I now weigh 207 pounds. The weight continues to come off.
At first, I didn’t have a goal. I just wanted to lose weight. Ultimately my goal is to be an even 200 pounds. I started in a size 18/20, and now I wear a size 12/14.
What is your height?
My height is 5’5″.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? If so, what procedure and when did you have surgery?
I did not have weight loss surgery. I just made a commitment and began my journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned on this journey is I can do anything I put my heart and mind to.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
To my sisters out there trying to release weight, I say stay diligent and don’t give up. Get the word diet out of your vocabulary and replace it with lifestyle change.
Lastly, I want to say that I absolutely love your page. You give So much inspiration to so many women and men (my husband follows your page too).
