Transformation of the Day: Alicia lost 155 pounds. She knows that slow and stead wins the race. Fed up with depression and health issues, she decided to focus being happy and getting fit. She overhauled her diet and created a workout routine that works for her. Check out her awesome transformation.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going during the tough times?
In 2010, I got fed up with depression and health issues so I set out to regain my health and happiness. My inspiration was wanting to play with my little bro (20 yrs younger than me). I couldn’t run and be active like that. It kept me going to know that one day I could play soccer with him.
How did you change your eating habits?
I drastically changed my diet. No sugar, no carbs and no fast food. I drank more water and used portion control. I also ate as many vegetables as I could, along with protein. I ate tons of fish, chicken and salads. I always keep greek yogurt, nuts, dried berries and water available, as my go to snacks.
What did your workout routine look like?
I worked with a trainer 3 times a week. I also did 1 hour of cardio at least once a day, if not twice. Now, I’m just toning and chipping away a little more belly fat! I still train 3 days a week and do an hour of cardio 7 days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 350 pounds. After a year, I was down 100 pounds, from 350lbs to 250lbs. As of today, I weigh 198 pounds at 5’8″. (I did not have weight loss surgery.) My journey is still an on going process. I thank God for my strength, dedication and the motivation to get here, because there were a lot of tears… as well as sweat.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned not to give up cause just because some things on this journey are hard. Anything worth having isn’t going to come easy.
What advice would you like to share with other people who want to lose weight?
My advice: Silence your critics. Dont give up, just stay focused. If you mess up, that’s fine. Just keep going and try to do better day by day.

Motivating each other, staying positive, getting rid of the “Toxicity”, in our lives is a start. Showing love and encouragement and wanting to see all woman succeed in their goals period is what we need. Not tearing each other down. Love, peace, and positivity is where its at. Loving ourselves and god is my motivation first and foremost. Congratulations on your weight loss, and keep on striving for greatness!
