Adrienne lost 36 pounds by completely changing her eating habits and working out five days a week. She started her transformation journey because she was unhappy about what she saw in the mirror and tired of suffering from back pain all the time.
What was your motivation?
I was unhappy with myself. My motivation was to be happy when I looked in the mirror instead of feeling depressed and suffering from back pain all the time. I also wanted to improve my chance of fertility.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
My before pictures inspired me. When I started this journey, I was the heaviest I’ve ever been. Walking up a few steps made me tired. I never wanted to feel so unfit and out of shape again. I never wanted to wash the dishes feel my back start hurting. Even while I was doing something as simple as showering, I could not stand for a long time because of the back pain.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits completely. I am from the islands, so it isn’t easy because we love carbs. I lowered my carb intake, and I juiced a lot! I also upped my vegetable intake tremendously.
What foods did you stop eating/cut back on?
White rice and white bread
What did your workout routine look like?
Cardio and weight training

Five times a week.

My starting weight was 246 pounds, and my current weight is 210 pounds.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Consistency is key, but this journey is more mental than anything else.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Condition your mind first.
