Transformation of the Day: Abrianna lost 40 pounds. She wanted to improve her health, raise her self-confidence, and become the best version of herself. Meal prepping, eating small meals throughout the day, and working out was very important to her success, but self love was the key. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation?
I finally decided this year that I wanted to be the BEST version of me. My health was changing in the wrong way, and I knew I wasn’t confident in myself. I also knew that self love and self confidence are things that no one can take away from me. I decided to love myself more by being the best me I can be!
How did you change your eating habits?
I slowly changed my eating habits by first reducing how much I snacked. I only had snacks once a week, instead of 5 times a week. Next, I only had fast food once a week so that I had something to look forward to, and I didn’t cut everything out”cold-turkey”. Once I established that routine, I began to meal prep to have smaller meals throughout the day. I made sure that I had vegetables and protein at every meal I ate. I only had a very small portion of carbs with my meals. I wanted to make sure I had a new lifestyle I could maintain.
What does your workout routine look like?
I typically do HIIT workouts or cardio (running) 4-6 times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Since January 2018, I’ve lost 40 pounds and went down 4 sizes in jeans. My starting weight is 222 pounds and my current weight is 182 pounds. My height is 5’6″.
I now know that diets are a myth. I’ve changed my entire lifestyle. I also prayed to God for strength and reminded myself of why I started on those tempting and tough days. I always told myself “ If you can see her, you can be her.” I can finally say that I am only 20 pounds shy of my 60 pound weight loss goal!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned to love myself even more! I have so much love for myself and everything in life is coming together. I also learned that what I used to eat wasn’t allowing me to be the best Abrianna I could be. It was harming my body and my health in the worst way! I learned to be strong, put myself first and chose things that I know are best for me.
What advice do you have for other women who want to lose weight?
Self love is so empowering. I learned it is something no one can take away from you. No matter what size you are, do what’s best for YOU! Find a new eating style that you know you can truly maintain and enjoy!
