What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going during the tough times?
Seven years ago, I had a double lumpectomy and breast reconstruction. Two weeks later, I was home recovering and suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. I gained weight during the treatment and recovery process. The weight was a hindrance to my overall health.
When I felt like giving up, I considered other aneurysm survivors and how blessed I am to have the ability to work, which gave me the confidence to keep going.
How did you change your eating habits?
I spoke with my primary care physician and expressed my goal of switching from my favorite foods to healthier versions. She recommended a nutritionist with my health care insurance plan. The nutritionist helped me change the recipes of my favorite meals into healthier versions.
