What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 198 pounds. My current weight is 148 pounds.
How have you maintained your weight loss/continued to lose weight?
I continue to log my food daily on My Fitness Pal. To maintain my weight, I have changed my calorie intake from 1,200 calories a day to 2,000 calories a day.
I use my mini stepper at home six days a week for 30 minutes and walk on my walking pad three days a week for 30-45 minutes while at work.
I have also incorporated strength training and weight lifting. I use different workout videos 3-4 days a week, focusing on different body parts (legs, arms, and core) on different days.
Looking back on lessons you’ve learned on your journey, which one stands out most?
Staying consistent stands out the most. Even if I have a bad day (food-wise or not working out in my normal regimen), I make sure to just jump right back into things and get back consistent. Also, I am constantly (when I say “constantly,” I mean every day) reminding myself this is not a sprint but a marathon. It’s a lifestyle change.
Would you like to offer any new or different advice to women who want to lose weight?
My advice remains the same as what I shared last time. Don’t wait until next month or next week, just start today! Start educating yourself, start making better decisions…just start now.
Don’t compare yourself or your journey to others (something I did often). Take your time to change your life in a healthy and safe way.
