What was your motivation?
Having a better quality of life was my motivation.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in January 2022.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I had gastric sleeve surgery. The date of my surgery was July 13, 2022. I lost my first 50 pounds in 30 days.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started eating snacks like tuna fish with cheddar cheese. I also would eat grapes and cherries for snacks. For meals, I’d eat high-protein meals. Sometimes, it’s only protein (like chicken, salmon, tuna, turkey, pork, etc.)
What is your workout routine?
To be honest, I haven’t worked out, but I’ll begin moving more. I live in New York City, and I take public transportation every day to work, so climbing up and down the stairs to and from work helped. I’ve also been taking walks more frequently.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 433 pounds, and my current weight is 270 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 6 feet tall.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
It’s possible. Also, if you’re considering weight loss surgery, don’t let people talk you out of it because THEY think it’s a risk or the “easy way out.” It’s definitely not easy. Many women have trouble losing weight on their own.

That’s so impressive! You look like a different person – and it’s good that you did what clearly was best for you….It also sounds very practical to use the subway stairs as some exercise! I sincerely wish you luck & joy on your continuing journey.
